Matthew McClellan is an American anchor and reporter working at FOX 13 Tampa Bay as a weekend morning anchor and as a weekday reporter on Good Day Tampa Bay. He joined FOX 13 Tampa Bay in 2019.
McClellan earned a Bachelor of Science in broadcasting from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Prior to relocating to Tampa in 2019, he worked in Indianapolis for 2 years and while he was there, worked for WRTV-TV as a weekend evening anchor and reporter on the weekdays. He also worked at WRIC-TV in Richmond, Virginia as a fill-in anchor and reporter and while he was there, he developed high-impact reports for broadcast and online.
In addition, he extensively covered the 2016 presidential election inclusive of the selection of former Richmond mayor Tim Kaine as the vice presidential nominee. He also reported about the widespread destruction of Hurricane Matthew. Furthermore, before joining WRIC, Matthew worked for WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama where he served as a weekend evening anchor. For McClellan’s reports on the deaths of dozens of boys at Florida’s Dozier reform school, he won a Florida Associated Press Award in 2014. Furthermore, during his spare time, he enjoys live music, cooking, and running.
