Matt Brickman Biography
Matt Brickman is an American meteorologist working for NBC 4 during the weekend editions of “News 4 New York” at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. He joined the NBC 4 news team in August 2019.
He spent his early childhood in Windsor, Connecticut before his family later relocated to Monmouth County while he was a teenager. Matt attended Marlboro High School where he graduated with a diploma and later joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he studied Broadcast Journalism and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. In addition, he also studied Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University.
In addition to Brickman’s work, he also visits Tri-State classrooms where he talks about weather safety with support from NBC 4 New York’s popular “Weather Kids” community program. Before Matt joined the NBC 4 news team, he worked for WCCO-TV, the CBS-owned and operated television station in Minneapolis-St. Paul. In addition, while he worked for WCCO-TV, he served as a weather anchor for eight years. On regular occasions, he covered severe weather from tornadoes to blizzards. Furthermore, Brickman started his career at WICD-TV in Champaign, Illinois where he served as a meteorologist.
