Mary Rominger is an American sports anchor and reporter working for KSAT. She joined the KSAT news team in 2023, after previously working for KEYC.
Rominger was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from Los Alamitos High School in Orange County, California. She then went to Iowa State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in sports and rec., women’s and gender studies, and leadership. Her love of sports started at a young age; she went to Dodgers games as early as 1998. Mary went to a lot of Los Angeles sporting events after that, including the King’s first Stanley Cup victory in franchise history. Mary’s desire to pursue sports journalism was evident even in the sixth grade.
In July 2023, Mary Rominger became the first full-time female sports anchor and reporter for KSAT 12, in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to San Antonio from Mankato, Minnesota, where she worked for KEYC News Now for four years, where she gained experience as a multi-media journalist, news and sports anchor, and reporter. Highlights of Mary’s stay in southern Minnesota included covering the Minnesota State men’s hockey team’s run to the Frozen Four in Boston, training camp for the Minnesota Vikings, and numerous high school sports titles. Mary’s interests include watching sports, going to new restaurants, and exploring the town in her spare time. She also likes to create content, vlog, and podcasts.
