Martin Sensmeier is an American actor and model best known for The Magnificent Seven (2016), Westworld (2018), and Yellowstone (2019).
Martin Sensmeier Career
Sensmeier started out as a welder before going on to work for Doyon Drilling on an oil rig. He left to go to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Sensmeier worked as a professional model there and in New York before eventually finding acting work in Los Angeles. The science fiction thriller Beyond the Sky was his debut feature picture. He was one of the “seven” in a major role in the 2016 adaptation of the motion picture The Magnificent Seven.
Sensmeier played Montford Johnson (Chickasaw), a guy who established a ranching empire close to the Chisholm Trail, in the 2017 biopic The Chickasaw Rancher. In addition, he portrayed Chip Hanson in the movie Wind River that same year. He will play the same character in the upcoming Wind River: The Next Chapter. Sensmeier joined the cast in the second (2018) season of the HBO television series Westworld, in the recurring role of Wanahton.

Martin Sensmeier 1883
Sensmeier portrays Sam in the drama television miniseries, 1883. He appears in episode seven where in order to cross the Comanche territory, settlers in Comancheria must pay them a levy. Elsa is introduced to one of the Comanche as Sam, a moniker he adopted from the guy who murdered his wife. Sam dubbed Elsa “Lightning With The Yellow Hair” when she won the race with her horse. As the gang is threatened by tornadoes as a storm moves in, Sam and Elsa hide together and have an embrace.
The group’s cattle are dispersed and their wagons are destroyed by the tornado. Shea, Thomas, James, and Elsa confront the rustlers after spotting the animals with them. After losing contact with her father, Elsa finds herself under attack from the rustlers, but Sam and his companion manage to rescue her. Charles Goodnight, a cattleman and Shea’s old acquaintance helps to murder the rustlers. Shea advises them to abandon their quest and find land close to Denver, Colorado, since the majority of the settlers’ wagons have been burned and their supplies are perilously low.
James publicly challenges Shea’s authority, telling him he will go on to Oregon and urging the other settlers to follow him north along the Oregon Trail. Elsa and Sam form a friendship when Elsa kills a bison and learns about Comanche culture. They decide to get married after announcing their love for one another. Margaret conveys her increasing worry for her daughter, but Elsa doesn’t back down. She declares that she will ride back to Comanche territory to be with Sam after escorting her family to Oregon. As the wagon train heads west, the engaged couple separates.
