Marlisa Goldsmith is an American Emmy-winning anchor and reporter working for FOX 35 as an anchor and reporter. She joined the FOX 35 news team in June 2022, after previously working for THV11.
Marlisa Goldsmith Career
Prince George’s County, Maryland is where Goldsmith was born and brought up. While she worked at THV11, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas, she served as the anchor of the weekday evening newscast. In addition, while working at THV11, Marlisa served as the head of the station’s VERIFY franchise where she separated fact from fiction during crucial political stories and health stories during the coronavirus pandemic.
Before she started working in Little Rock, she was worked for t WPXI, the NBC affiliate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she served as an anchor and reporter. While she was in Pittsburgh, she received regional recognition for her reporting on domestic violence, a local water crisis, the justice system, and community issues.
Prior to relocating to Pittsburgh, Goldsmith had her first stint at THV11 and during that time, she exposed outdated county ordinances and prompted policy changes. In addition, Marlisa has covered numerous severe weather events, including the 2014 EF-4 tornado that tracked 44 miles through the heart of Arkansas. She was among the first journalists on the ground and her reporting resulted to the team coverage from the most devastated areas.
In addition, she started her career in Abilene, Texas where she reported for the last ten years. She had the opportunity to travel all over the country while covering news headlines such as historic flooding in Columbia, South Carolina, the killing of Michael Brown, and the Ferguson shooting.
She attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Media Communications. Furthermore, she also attended de Universite de l’Ouest in Angers, France. Goldsmith is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. During her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling with her husband and daughter, and volunteering in the community.
