Mark Wilson Biography
Mark Wilson is an American multiple Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa where he serves as a weekday evening anchor at 6 pm and 10 pm. He joined the FOX 13 Tampa Bay team in Sepetember, 1997 after previously working for WNCN. In addition, Mark is also the lead guitarist in the band The Wilson Van which is formerly known as Van Wilson, with his brothers Paul and actor/singer Patrick Wilson.

In 1984, he joined Shorecrest Preparatory School where he earned a diploma in 1987. Later on, he joined Tallahassee Community College where he graduated in 1988, with an Associate of Arts in journalism, communications, and a Dean’s List. In addition, he also studied at Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalsim in 1991.

He has also worked at NBC News in Raleigh, Northern Carolina where he served as a regional correspondent and anchor of the station’s top-rated newscasts.
Ever since Wilson joined FOX 13, he has been honored for his reports from Ground Zero in New York, Hurricane Katrina earned an Emmy award for his reports recently following a string of deadly tornadoes in Alabama. Not long ago, he reported from the scene of the deadly Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando for which he earned an Emmy award. However, his outstanding assignments were in 2005, when he embedded a group of U.S. Army Reservists during the height of the war in Iraq. Wilson was also invited to the White House for an exclusive interview with President Obama in 2011.
Furthermore, he has been active in a number of charities such as; Southeastern Guide Dogs, March of Dimes, and The Wilson Family Foundation, which is a non-profit that he began together with his parents and brothers. During his leisure time, he enjoys spending ample time with his two daughters and wife, chasing his two golden retrievers, and playing his guitar.
