Mark Viviano Biography
Mark Viviano is an American sports anchor and reporter working for WJZ-TV where he serves as the sports director. He joined the WJZ-TV sports team in June 2002, after previously working for CNN.
Not long ago, Viviano worked for CNN-Sports where he served as a studio anchor and national correspondent. Prior to working for CNN, he was in Baltimore where he worked for NBC affiliate television station WBAL-TV from December 1999. While he worked at WBAL-TV, he served as a sports anchor for 5 years. In addition, Mark has also worked for 98 Rock FM where he served as a morning radio sports anchor and evening/weekend call-in host for sports-related programming.
Prior to coming to Baltimore, Viviano was in the Midwest in Dayton, Ohio where he worked for WDTN-TV as a weekend sports anchor. He has also worked for WCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he served as a sports reporter for 3 years. Furthermore, over the years, Mark has covered many events that have received national recognition. While serving as a reporter, he covered the story of the Cleveland Browns’ relocation to Baltimore in November 1995.
In addition, Mark was chosen to carry the Olympic torch to its final destination at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta through Baltimore en route. He is also an avid runner who has completed 21 marathons such as the 2002 Boston Marathon. In the inaugural Baltimore 10 Miler in June 2008, Viviano completed 109th out of 1,800 runners. St. Louis, Missouri is Mark’s native home and he attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
