Mark Strehl Biography
Mark Strehl is an American meteorologist working for FOX 32 as a morning meteorologist on Good Day Chicago. Prior to joining FOX 32 Chicago, he worked at WISN-TV.
Strehl decided that he would become an Archeologist after he found fossils behind his grandmother’s house. Later in fourth grade, his science teacher pointed out that geologists are the ones who study fossils. That changed when Chicago weather legend Harry Volkman attended his church as a keynote speaker. In addition, Mark replaced Harry when he left FOX 32 News.
Strehl was brought up in Ottawa where he had his first job when he was 18 years old at a local radio station. Mark attended Northern and Southern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in atmospheric science and journalism. He also holds the AMS Seal of Approval.
In addition, Mark has worked on both coasts from Albany, New York to Eugene, Oregon. Strehl has also worked at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis where he served as a meteorologist and at WISN-TV in Milwaukee where he served as the chief meteorologist for 4 years.
