Mark Morales is an American anchor and reporter working for CNN as a news correspondent. He joined the CNN news team in June 2018, after previously working for Newsday Media Group.
Morales works for CNN as a law enforcement reporter. The New York Police Department and other city, state, and federal departments in the northeast are what he writes about most. He lives in New York. As of June 2018, Morales had been working for CNN. He has broken news about several national stories, such as Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide, the college admissions scandal, Cesar Sayoc’s mail bomb plan, the mass shootings in Virginia Beach and Dayton, Ohio, and others.
Before working for CNN, Morales was a crime reporter for Newsday on Long Island, New York. There, he wrote about the violent international gang MS-13 and the high number of deaths caused by opioid addiction. He got an award from the Press Club of Long Island for his work. In the past, Morales has also covered law enforcement for the Wall Street Journal and crime for the New York Daily News, where he was a staff writer.
During the search for the Boston Marathon bombers, Morales broke news in the Daily News. That was his first job. He worked nights and weekends as a desk assistant for WCBS Newsradio 880. Morales also worked as a Desk Assistant at CBS News from June 2006 to September 2009, in Greater New York City Area. Morales got degrees in both communications and Latin American studies from Pace University. He also has a Master’s degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and taught there part-time.
