Mark Carpenter is an American anchor and reporter working at Hawaii News Now where he serves as a news anchor and reporter. He joined Hawaii News Now in 2020, after previously working in the Bay Area for 5 years.
In 2005, Carpenter joined Kamehameha School where he graduated with a diploma in 2008. He then joined Hawaii Pacific University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2012. In 2017, Mark joined the University of Southern California where he graduated with a master of Communication in management in 2018. In addition, while Mark worked in the San Francisco market, he served as a sports director covering a number of the country’s most significant sporting events.
Some of the events he covered included; the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament, Major League Baseball playoffs, the College Football National Championship, four NBA Finals, two Super Bowls, and a Stanley Cup final. Before Carpenter left for the Bay Area, he began his news career at HNN where he worked his way through a number of positions such as; intern, multimedia journalist, associate producer, and sports anchor. Whenever he finds time, he enjoys searching for the best fresh poke spots around the state.
