Growing up in Santa Barbara, Marianne went to the University of London, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism. Her career started in Santa Barbara, where she worked at a news radio station as an anchor and reporter. Before coming to NBC Bay Area, she worked as an anchor and reporter in San Luis Obispo, California for seven years.

Among the many things Marianne loves about her work are getting to know new people, never stopping to learn, and changing lives by disseminating crucial knowledge. Among Marianne’s other accomplishments in her career is a Golden Microphone Award for Best Newscast, which she produced and anchors. Additionally, she was honored with the Radio and Television News Directors Association’s (RTNDA) Best Serious Feature Award for her portrayal of a local Titanic survivor.
During her free time, she enjoys scuba diving, mountain bike riding, traveling, running, and spending time with her family. Additionally, Marianne volunteers for the American Heart Association, The Diabetes Society, and the MS Society and completed a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Society and also.
