Maggie Kent is an American reporter working for 6ABC as a reporter covering feature, breaking, and general assignment stories. She joined the 6ABC news team in April 2018, after previously working for WCBS-TV.
Philadelphia is Kent’s native home and she attended Central High School which is in the Philadelphia Public School System. Later on, she joined Montclair State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting. In addition, Kent began her career on the streets of the Bronx while working for News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn as a reporter and multimedia journalist.
Not long after, she served as an evening anchor and while she was there, she did a series “Wheels in Motion” for which she received an Emmy nomination. The series followed the lives of two paralyzed New Yorkers who founded a non-profit that assisted others in regaining their mobility.
In addition, Maggie joined WCBS in New York City in 2016, and while she was on the station, she covered a wide range of stories. A number of stories she covered include; storm coverage, many local and international issues, the 2016 Presidential Debate at Hofstra University, and terrorist attacks. During her spare time, she enjoys thrift shopping, and cheering in Philly Sports teams.
