Mackenzi Henderson is an American Emmy-award-winning anchor and reporter who previously worked for WGEM as an evening anchor and reporter at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. alongside Daniel Winn. She joined the WGEM news team in 2020, after previously working for KIII.
The Minnesota native attended Argo Community High School and went to the University of Minnesota, in 2007, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Henderson’s journalism career began in 2007 when she worked at KOTA, in Rapid City, South Dakota, as a weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. After three years there, she joined KQDS-DT, a FOX 21 affiliate station in Duluth, Minnesota, where she worked as an evening anchor and producer at 6 and 9 pm newscasts. She then left KQDS-DT in 2011 to resume the same role at INN, in Davenport, Iowa, where she served for one year.
In 2013, Henderson joined WWAY, in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she worked as an evening anchor and reporter, airing the 5, 6, 10, and 11 pm newscasts. After serving for three years, in August 2016, she joined KXXV News Channel 25, in Waco, Texas area. There, she worked as an anchor and reporter, anchoring the 6 and 10 pm newscasts. Prior to joining WGEM, Henderson anchored 5, 6, and 10 pm newscasts at KIII, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
