Lynn Kawano is an American reporter and anchor working at Hawaii News Now where she serves as the chief investigative reporter. She joined the Hawaii News Now team in September 2013, after previously working at FOX 4 news.
Before she joined Hawaii News Now, she worked in Dallas, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Boise, Idaho. While she worked across the mainland, she covered many interesting stories including; The World Series, Hurricane Katrina, The Super Bowl in Dallas, and Tornados ripping through Kansas. While she was born, her family resided in Waipahu near the old Kawano Store that was owned by her great-grandparents. Her family relocated to Pearl City when she was 4 years old and her mother would make musubis on almost every weekend morning.
In addition, Lynn attended St. Andrew’s Priory School where she earned a diploma before later joining the University of Hawai’i at Manoa where she graduated in 1995. She later interned at KHNL and after she had graduated, she secured a job at KGMB where she served as a sports reporter and producer. Furthermore, Kawano has also worked at KBOI-TV where she was an executive producer and morning anchor for a period of 5 years. She also served as a reporter and anchor at KSMO and FOX 4.
