Lori Pinson Biography

Lori Pinson is an American meteorologist working for FOX 2 as Saturday through Wednesday mornings meteorologist. Prior to joining FOX 2, she worked in Baltimore as a chief meteorologist.

Lori Pinson Career

Pinson holds both the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval and the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Seal of Approval. She attended Johns Hopkins University for her post-graduate where she studied Environmental Science and Policy. In addition, for Lori’s exclusive on-air weathercast for the deaf, she was awarded an Emmy award.

Furthermore, for her Emmy nominated online series “Lori’s Science Corner”, Pinson received the Best Use of  New Media award and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Best Weather award. The Lori’s Science Corner series was created in collaboration with the National Science Teaching Association. Lori’s original award-winning series was Lori’s Hidden Michigan, that spotlights the state’s little-known treasures.

In addition, Pinson has won many Society of Professional Journalist and Associated Press awards for her journalism and science skills. Not long ago, the National Society of Black Journalists honored Lori with the Salute to Excellence award. She was also named the National Weather Association Broadcaster of the Year.

Prior to working in Pennsylvania, DC, she served as a chief meteorologist in Baltimore. She has also worked in Ohio were she served as a national science correspondent for the London-based network ITN.  During her free time, she enjoys working in the community, volunteering in many charities and causes, Lecturing at church, and renovating antique furniture.
