Lloyd Sowers Biography
Lloyd Sowers is an American two-time, Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa Bay as the co-anchor of the weekend editions. He joined the FOX 13 team in February 1987, after previously working for WINK-TV.
In 1980, he joined West Virginia University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and a minor in speech communication and English. Over the years, Lloyd has covered numerous major stories including hurricanes Hugo, Opal, Andrew, Charley, and Elena. For his outstanding work, he has received many honors such as the Florida Bar Association Award for reporting legal issues and two Emmy awards. In addition, Sowers also received a UPI, AP, and SPJ award. Prior to Lloyd joining the FOX 13 team, he worked at WMSG in Oakland, Maryland WMSG in Oakland, Maryland, WINK-TV in Ft.
