Lissette Gonzalez is an American meteorologist working for CBS4 Miami as a weekday morning 4:30 am-9 am and noon meteorologist. She has been serving as the morning and noon CBS4 News since 2007 when she joined the station.

She has also made regular appearances as a guest meteorologist on the national CBS Mornings broadcast which was formally known as CBS This Morning. Gonzalez attended Mississippi State University where he earned her degree as Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and she has also been awarded the National Weather Association (NWA) Television Weathercaster Seal of Approval. In addition, she is a proud member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. In 2013, the Miami New Times named Lissette as the best meteorologist. and the Society of Professional Journalists recognized her with a Florida Award of Excellence.

Lissette was also chosen as one of Brickell Magazine’s “Top 20 Professionals under 40″ and she was featured in  Ocean Drive Magazine’s “Beach Patrol: The people who make Miami. In addition, Gonzalez was born and brought up in Miami and before she joined CBS4, she worked for KTLA’s Prime News in Los Angeles as the evening weather anchor, Furthermore, her weathercast received recognition with a Mark Twain AP Award for “Best Weather segment” by the Associated Press Association. For Gonzalez’s work as the host of the KTLA special “Access LA: de todo-Latin Explosion,” she received a Los Angeles Emmy Award nomination. She delivered her weathercasts and often covered entertainment news from different events, venues, and award shows.

She has had a wife and an outstanding career in entertainment and broadcasting on the local and national levels. Lissette has served as the host and reporter for nationally syndicated shows such as; Extra en Espanol, EXTRA, and Livin’ Large. She started working in front of the camera in Miami while she was at the University of Miami where she anchored the Primetime and Daybreak newscast on UMTV, in addition to hosting and reporting for the local show “Miami Hoy”(“Miami Today”).

Formerly, Gonzalez was a Miss Florida and Miss Miami and in 1998, she was named as the second runner-up to Miss America and won more than  $50,000 dollars in scholarship money that assisted her complete her studies and graduate from the University of Miami with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Music-Vocal Performance. She also starred in the Off-Broadway hit, 4 Guys Named Jose and Una Mujer named Maria in Miami and New York as Maria. Lissette was also nominated for the prestigious Carbonell Award and her success Off-Broadway led to a record deal with RCA in 2001, and she had the preavilage to record with Grammy-award-winning music producers and songwriters in both Miami and New York, Los Angeles.

In addition, she is actively involved in the community and not long ago, she was recognized with the Lions Club International Medal of Merit Award by the Dania Lions Club for her contribution in the community. On regular occasions, she visits South Florida schools to speak to students about the need of education and weather. Gonzalez is supportive of numerous organisations such as; American Red Cross, Best Buddies, Dream in Green, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Padres Brillantes, Amigos for Kids, and Women of Tomorrow. In many charitable events, Lissette has served as a host, and is greatly engaged with CBS4′s Neighbors 4 Neighbors programs. Furthermore, To assit raise funds for Broward burn victim Michael Brewer, she has worked together with fellow CBS4 Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli.

Lissette  teamed up with Jeff and they hosted a “Strike out Cancer” event that assisted benefit the Children’s Cancer Caring Center. She also took part in events such as the annual Celebrity 5K to help benefit Community Partnership for the Homeless, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to raise awareness, and funds for Breast Cancer Research. In addition, she is still passionate about music and was honored to sing the National Anthem and “God Bless America” at the Heat, Marlins and Dolphins games and at the Sony Ericsson. Whenever she can, she enjoys spending ample tome with her friends and family.
