Lisa Sacaccio Biography
Lisa Sacaccio is an American anchor working for WCJB where she serves as a morning anchor from 5 am to 7 am and a noon anchor. She joined the ABC20 team in May 2020, after previously working for WTVY where she was also a morning and noon anchor.
From 2008 to 2012, Sacaccio studied at New Dorp High School where she earned a diploma. She then joined Campbell University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Electronic Media and a minor in sports business in 2016. After graduating, Sacaccio was able to secure a job at WCJB’s sister station WTVY in Dothan, Alabama as a multimedia journalist and producer a position he held from June 2016 to November 2016. Later on, he served as a morning multimedia journalist, producer, and fill-in reporter for a period of 9 months before she was promoted to being a morning and noon anchor in July 2017.
For the last 4 years, she has covered; hurricane Hermine and Hurricane Michael, and interviewed; CBS’s Chris Martinez for NASA’s Apollo 11 50th Anniversary, Broadway phenomenon Kristin Chenoweth, former GMA host Joan Lunden, Alabama’s US Representatives Martha Roby and Bradley Byrne, 2019 and 2017’s Miss Alabama, Food Network’s Guiliana Rancic, the Harlem Globetrotters, TV analyst and former NFL Falcons fullback Ovie Mughelli, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, and had a cameo on John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” segment.
Furthermore, she also covered numerous medical stories including the LifeFlight system and Wiregrass’s stroke network and did in-depth pieces on neuroendovascular surgery, breastfeeding, heart surgery, diabetes, and recommend diets for cancer patients. In addition, while Lisa was in Dothan, she has the opportunity to emcee many events such as Christmas Tree Lighting ceremonies, pageants, and fundraisers. During the Dothan Dancing with the Stars, Sacaccio was a professional dancer and she won the Judge’s Choice. Furthermore, Lisa starred in two plays with the area’s nonprofit organization, SEACT (Southeast Alabama Community Theatre).
She took up the character Lisa in SEACT’s 2020 musical “Mamma Mia,” who was one of Sophie’s best friends, and the infamous jazz slayer Velma Kelly, the lead in SEACT’s 2019 musical “Chicago.” Sacaccio is a dance enthusiast, with an extensive background of more than 20 years across many genres. During her leisure time, she enjoys chilling with her cat Soho, chilling at the beach, and watching baseball.
