Lionel Bienvenu is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor who is currently working at Denver7. He joined the Denver7 team in 2001, as the host of Monday Night Live and currently serves as the sports director.

Bienvenu is currently working at Denver7 where he serves as the sports director. In 2019, he won an Emmy award for the Best Sports Anchor in Denver. In 2011 and 2014, he also won the Best Sports Anchor Emmy award, and in 2006, and won another in 2006 for his adventure show known as Lionel’s World. In addition, the Colorado Broadcaster’s Association awarded him in 2011 and 2012 as the Best Sportscast. The Westword Magazine also named him the Best TV Sportscaster in 2014.
Baltimore, Maryland is his birth home, but he was brought up in New Orleans and graduated from Loyola University. He was able to secure his first job in 1985 in Lafayette, Louisiana as a sports anchor and reporter covering the Ragin’ Cajuns of USL. Later on, he relocated to New Orleans where he worked at WVUE-TV Fox-8 as the host of Jim Mora Show with the Saints head coach from 1989-to 1993. In addition, the New Orleans Press Club awarded him in 1995 with the Best Sportscaster and Best Host awards.
In 1997, he relocated to Los Angelos where he worked at Fox Sports Network as an anchor. While working at Fox Sports Network, he serves as the anchor of Fox Sports News Prime Time which turned into The National Sports Report. In addition, he also serves as the host of Baseball Today which aired on Fox from 1998 to 2000. Furthermore, he serves as the host of The English Premier League Soccer Show which aired on Fox Sports World and Fox Sports Net. The show was seen in South and Central America, and Europe. It was popular that six different soccer teams across the U.S. named themselves after Bienvenu.
Furthermore, he has covered the 2000 Subway Series between the Mets and the Yankees, the 1997 MLB All-Star game, and the 1997 Super Bowl. In June 2000, he also served as the guest host of This Week on Sports DirectTV. He was also a guest host on Fox Sports Radio in Los Angelos. Additionally, he hosted for Los Angeles and the Rocky Mountain region in 2001, the Los Angeles and the Rocky Mountain region.
In 2012 and 2013, he hosted Mile High Living and The John Fox Show. As far as he has worked at Denver7, his best moments have been covering the Rockies Run to the World Series in 2007, and Rocktober. In 2012, he also covered the Broncos’ signing of Peyton Manning. In 2015 and 2013, he run for the Super Bowl and the Tebow-Mania in 2011.
