Leslie Rangel is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 7 as the co-anchor of Good Day Austin which airs on weekdays from 4:30 am to 10 a.m. alongside Casey Claiborne and Amanda Salinas. She joined the FOX 7 news team in June 2019.
Longhorn is Rangel’s native home and she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and another one in Spanish Language teaching. Prior to her graduation, she interned at CBS Radio as a producer, KXAN-TV, and at CBS News where she worked on the early morning show. In addition, while she worked at KXAN News, she served as a crime reporter.
Prior to working at KXAN News, she had stops at KFOR in Oklahoma City where she served as a news reporter and multimedia journalist for nearly 2 years. She also worked at KFDM News in Port Arthur, Texas where she served as an evening reporter during the 4, 5, 5:30, and 6 pm newscast for 2 years. In addition, Leslie has also worked at FOX 44 in Waco, Texas where she served as an evening news anchor and reporter. Furthermore, she has received recognition from the Texas Associated Press of Broadcasters, and in 2017, she was awarded the best reporter award. Rangel is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher who is eloquent in Spanish and she loves salsa dancing.
