Leslie Lopez is an American meteorologist working for ABC 7 as a weekday morning meteorologist from 4 am to 9 am. She joined the ABC 7 News team in 2016, after previously working for KUSI in San Diego.
SoCal is Lopez’s native home and she attended Pomona Catholic High School. She attended Mississippi State University where she studied broadcast meteorology and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She also studied at UC Riverside where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. The Mississippi State University has also certified Leslie as a broadcast meteorologist.
Prior to joining ABC 7, she worked at KUSI in San Diego for a number of years as a weekday morning weather/traffic anchor, fill-in anchor, and host. Before then, Leslie held dual roles at Bakersfield where she worked at NBC affiliate KGET as a reporter and weekend weather anchor. Over the years, Lopez has served as an on-air host, anchor, reporter, and weather anchor.
In addition, she also served as an assistant host of On The Red Carpet during the Academy Awards alongside; Karl Schmid, Roshumba Williams, and George Pennacchio. During her free time, she enjoys reading, golfing, home improvement projects, traveling, writing, dining, dreaming, and spending as much time as she can with her family.
