Lee Thomas is an American four-time Emmy-winning author and hosts working at FOX 2 as the host of CriticLEE Speaking, which is a weekly movie review show. He joined the FOX 2 team in November 1997, after previously working for WABC 7.

Thomas attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication. During Thomas’ start of his broadcasting career, he covered the Oscars, spent three weeks in Los Angeles during the riots, and did a live interview with astronauts on the space station. Thomas worked on Channel One which is a nationally syndicated teen news program where he served as a correspondent. For a short while, he worked on Louisville Tonight Live in Kentucky which was among the only pm magazine-style entertainment shows left in the country at the time.

Lee then went Fan Fair in Nashville and to The Kentucky Derby. Later on, the secured a job at ABC’s flagship local affiliate in NYC where he served as an entertainment and feature reporter. As Lee worked at ABC, he talked to people such as Christie Brinkley and Paul Newman as he covered everything from the Tonys to the Grammys. In addition, they relocated to Michigan to work at FOX 2 as a weekend anchor and entertainment reporter.

During the early stages of Thomas’ career, he was diagnosed with vitiligo which is an autoimmune disease that destroys skin pigment. His diagnosis turned out to be the biggest blessing of his life and he released his memoir “Turning White” through the regional publisher, Momentum Books, and his story got overwhelming attention.
