Lee Goldberg Biography
Lee Goldberg is an American meteorologist working for WABC-TV as the chief meteorologist seen at 4, 5, 6, and 11 pm. He joined the Eyewitness News Weather Team in 1996.
Goldberg began to be curious about weather when he was 12 years old and his first “Weather Center” was made of shoe boxes and milk cartons. While Lee was 14 years old, he broadcasted his first weather reports to his hometown of Canton, Massachusetts. He shared his passion for weather with schools across the Tri-state as he inspired a future generation of young meteorologists. In addition, Goldberg attended Cornell University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology in 1994.
During Goldberg’s time in college, he entered WHDH-TV in Boston, WCVB-TV, and the National Weather Service office in Concord, New Hampshire. Later on, he started his career in meteorology at a private weather service and for US and Canadian radio stations. Furthermore, Lee also worked for WSTM-TV in Syracuse, New York where he was a fill-in meteorologist. While he worked for WSTM-TV, he contributed to the award-winning coverage of the historic “Blizzard of 1993” that hit Central New York. After having graduated, Goldberg worked full-time at WTVH-TV in Syracuse.
Furthermore, Goldberg is devoted to community service and he is an avid supporter of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which he hosts for their annual Walkathon in Riverside Park every spring. Not long ago, Goldberg worked with the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, for which he received recognition. He is also an active member of the Central Park Conservancy, and he supports many programs that protect and preserve the park. During his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, and golf, and he is a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan
