Lauren Winfrey is an American anchor and reporter working for CBS Detroit where she served as a weekend morning anchor and three-day weekly reporter. She joined the CBS Detroit team in January 2023, after previously working for NBC10.

Detroit is Winfrey’s native home and she attended Detroit Country Day School where she graduated with a high school diploma in 2008. She then joined the University of Michigan where she studied English language and literature in its College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and graduated in 2012, Lauren has also studied at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where he earned a Master’s Degree, Broadcast & Digital Journalism in 2015.

Prior to joining the CBS Detroit team, Winfrey worked in Wisconsin for a period of 4 years while serving as a Multimedia journalist and reporter. She has also worked in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at NBC10 where she served as a reporter. In addition, whenever Lauren finds time, she enjoys scouting out the best toddler-friendly play places and attending mommy and me classes in Metro Detroit. She also loves finding and feasting on the best food in the city. Lauren also loves spending Saturdays at Eastern Market and walking the Dequindre Cut.
