Lauren Pastrana Biography
Lauren Pastrana is an American anchor working for CBS4 News as the co-anchor of the weeknights at 5, 6, 7, and 11 p.m. newscast a position she took up in May 2020. She joined the CBS Miami team in April 2012 as a reporter, and later in September 2015, she was promoted to serving as the morning anchor a position she held for 4 years.

Pastrana has been nominated for Emmy awards and she is a multimedia journalist with experience in radio, television, and web-based news reporting. Prior to joining the CBS4 team, she worked at Newsradio 610 WIOD where she served as a morning reporter and anchor. After working for a number of months at CBS4, she was promoted to being a full-time weekday evening reporter. Pastrana has also served as the anchor of This Morning for a period of 5 years. In addition, while she anchored the morning show, she launched; Lauren’s List and South Florida Survivors. Furthermore, Lauren assisted in getting pets adopted on her weekly “Dogs in the City” segment in addition to chatting about sports daily during “Talkin’ With Joe.”
Over the years, she has assisted CBS4 in covering historical events such as; the coronavirus pandemic, the social justice protests of 2020, hurricanes, the death of Fidel Castro, and elections. Miami is her native home and she returned to South Florida from WINK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Fort Myers where she served as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Prior to working in Southwest Florida, she worked at WIOD where she served as a reporter and afternoon anchor. In addition, while Pastrana worked at WIOD, she covered everything from local political corruption to Super Bowl XLIV.
Lauren has also spent a season working for Miami Dolphins Game Day Live show as an in-stadium reporter. She attended the University of Florida where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication-News. While she was at the University, she was awarded the Four-Year Scholar Award which is a distinction bestowed to those who graduate at the top of their class. In addition, while Pastrana was in Gainesville, she worked for WUFT-TV where she served as an anchor and reporter. She was also part of the team that launched a Spanish-language web-based news service targeting Alachua and the surrounding counties titled AM850: Noticias en Español. During her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending ample time with her husband, son Jordan, daughter Gianela and their dog Daisy.
