Raised in Chicago, Leamanczyk attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her professional journalism journey began at WTMJ-TV in the Greater Milwaukee Area, where she dedicated six years to the team. In 2011, she took on the role of a general assignment reporter at WBZ CBS Boston. In June 2014, she transitioned to becoming an Investigative Reporter and Anchor, playing a key role in a team that earned prestigious awards such as the Peabody and Dupont Awards. She was specifically responsible for spearheading exclusive content and producing in-depth stories, covering significant events such as the Boston Marathon Bombings, the New Hampshire Primary, and Hurricane Sandy. Additionally, she served as a Substitute Anchor for all shows and dayparts.
She made the move to KARE 11 in August 2016, where she currently serves as an anchor on KARE 11 News at 5 p.m. and continues her role as an investigative reporter. As an Investigative Reporter, she achieved significant recognition by producing an Emmy Award-winning series of reports. These reports addressed an Elder Abuse Crisis within Minnesota’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Among her notable achievements is the tracking of a conman with victims spread across the country. The impact of these investigative reports is noteworthy, as they are credited with directly contributing to the individual’s arrest, conviction, and subsequent federal prison sentence.
