Lauren Jiggetts is an American anchor working for WGN-TV as a co-anchor of the morning newscast at 4 am and 5 am. She joined the WGN-TV on July 10, 2017, after previously working at NBC 5.
Prior to Jiggetts joining WGN-TV, she worked at NBC 5 in Chicago where she worked for 10 years. While she was at the station, she took up a number of roles, and not long ago, she served as the weekend news anchor. In addition, Lauren has also worked at WLVI, the CW affiliate in Boston, and at Channel One News in L.os Angelos. While she was in college, she interned at CLTV and at WFLD-TV.
Furthermore, in 2011, she was awarded a national and regional Emmy award for her contribution to the station’s coverage of the Burr Oak Cemetery Scandal. Over the years, Lauren has received many local Emmy awards and in 2015, she was awarded the Irv Kupcinet Media Award at the 41st Annual Ed Kelly Foundation Gala. She attended Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire where she earned a high school diploma and later joined Harvard University where she graduated cum laude.
