Kyra Darnton Biography
Kyra Darnton is an American President and Executive Producer of Retro Report (2013), Enemies of the People (2020), and Retro Report on PBS (2019). She is best known for being the wife of American author, David Grann.
Darnton is a proud graduate of Duke University. She joined Retro Report from 60 Minutes, where she was a multiple award-winning investigative reporter and storyteller who revealed fraud in cancer clinical trials, winning a Peabody Award in 2012. Darnton has overseen 250 short films at Retro Report, working with a variety of distribution partners like The New York Times, a prime-time PBS program, and VICE TV. She has also helped Retro Report win multiple awards, including a 2018 Gerald Loeb award, multiple Emmy nominations, and Edward R. Murrow and Webby awards. Teachers told Retro Report that RR videos and educator resources help teachers solve a problem in the classroom: getting students interested in history, civics, and media literacy. This led Retro Report to launch an education initiative in 2020.
