Kweilyn Murphy is an American meteorologist working for ABC11 on weekday mornings at 10 a.m. alongside co-anchors John Clark and Barbara Gibbs.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is Kweilyn’s native home. She started her television career at WQED Multimedia and while she was there, she worked with Mister Rogers. She also assisted in the production of a number of national Doo Wop television productions and station events. In addition, while serving as a meteorologist, Murphy has worked in Greenville, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and New Orleans, Los Angeles.
Murphy attended Ohio University where she earned a Broadcast Journalism degree with a specialization in English and Children’s Television. She also studied at Mississippi State University where she earned a certificate in meteorology. In addition, Kweilyn is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Weather Association, and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
