Kristy Breslin Biography
Kristy Breslin is an American traffic anchor working for WJZ-TV as a weekday morning traffic anchor. She joined the WJZ-TV team in May 2011, as a fill-in traffic reporter.
Harford County is Kristy’s native home and she was brought up in Bel Air. She attended Harford Community College where she studied communications. Breslin also studied at the University of Maryland where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. While she was at Harford, she worked on the Harford Cable Network where she served as the host of “Harford MagaScene.” Throughout the Baltimore region, Breslin has held a number of other on-air positions in both television and radio prior to joining the WJZ team and she has more than two decades of experience in broadcasting.
Every year, Breslin has been taking part in nonprofit fundraisers for organizations as an emcee. A number of organizations she has emceed include; The Arc After Dark Gala, the March of Dimes celebrity chef auction, The Harford Family House Volunteer Appreciation breakfast, The Alzheimer’s Memory Ball, the Kennedy Kreiger Foster Parent Dinner, Charm City Run, the American Diabetes Association Step out Walk, The Harford Center Ghoul and Oyster Roast, and many more.
Breslin has also been the keynote speaker for the 2015 Office Professionals Conference, a guest lecturer for college broadcasting classes, and a distracted driving PSA in 2015 with fellow traffic reporter Sharon Gibala, and she has received recognition for many accomplishments. In addition, the Harford County Commission on Disabilities awarded Kristy with the “Media Award” in 2018. She was also featured in the 2018 Harford Community College success story.
Breslin received recognition as the 2019 Distinguished Alumni and she helped in donating WJZ’s former television set to the students of Harford Community College. She received the “Harford’s Most Beautiful Person” nomination and she was a finalist for the “Harford County Athena Award” in 2019. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending as much time as she can with her family.
