Kristin Emery is an American meteorologist working for KDKA as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. She joined the KDKA weather team in 2012.
Washington, Pennsylvania is Emery’s native home and she attended Washington High School where she graduated proudly. Later on, she joined West Virginia University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. Kristin began her weather career at WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio. Later on, she worked in; Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania while serving as a feather forecast and news anchor and reporter.
Kristin also studied at Mississippi State University where she completed her degree in meteorology. In addition, she is an award-winning reporter and for her coverage of the deadly tornado outbreak in Alabama in 2011, she got an Emmy nomination for covering the deadly tornado outbreak in Alabama in 2011. Furthermore, Emery has reported on everything over the years inclusive of sports, politics, medicine, and all kinds of weather events. A number of weather events he covered include; mudslides, hurricanes, blizzards, tornadoes, ice storms, and floods. One of her most memorable stories was covering Hurricane Andrew in Florida.
In addition, Emery is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. She also holds a seal of approval from the two organizations. Through RTDNA, Kristin is a fellow of the RIAS Berlin Commission and she reported from Germany on the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. During her spare time, she enjoys scuba diving, traveling, skiing on slopes, following Pittsburgh and WVU sports teams, and spending as much time as she can with family.
