Kristen Sze Biography
Kristen Sze is an American Emmy-winning anchor and reporter working for KGO-TV as an 11 am, 3 pm, and 4 pm anchor. She joined the ABC 7 news team in 1998, after previously working for Extratv.
Taiwan is Sze’s native home and while growing up she played walk-on roles on television. While she was in high school, she would write her high school newspaper. Later on, she joined the University of California, Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1991. While she was at the University, she worked at the school’s radio station, KALX as a reporter while she interned at almost every television station in Bay Area. In addition, Kristen has served as a reporter in Fresno, New York City, Binghamton, Philadelphia, and New York.
Sze is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She also studied at Oxford University in England via a scholarship from the Asian American Journalists Association. The San Francisco BayList voted Sze as ‘Best News Anchor’ in 2011 and in 1999 and 2002, she won Emmy awards.
Furthermore, Kristen volunteers with many community organizations as an advisory board member, mentor, and emcee. She is also an active volunteer with organizations such as; Help a Mother Out, Wender-Weis Foundation for Children, My New Red Shoes, Kids and Art Foundation, and the Professional Businesswomen’s Conference. During her spare time, she enjoys; volunteering at her kids’ schools, cheering for them in sports, and rooting for the Giants, Warriors, and Cal Bears.
