Kris Laudien Biography
Kris Laudien is an American anchor working for CBS News Detroit as a morning anchor. He joined the CBS Detroit team in January 2023, after previously working for KARE 11 in Minneapolis.
Laudien was born in Europe and brought up in Canada. He attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology where he earned a diploma in broadcast journalism. Kris began his career at the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks and NBA’s Vancouver Grizzlies where he served as a sports reporter. In addition, while Laudien worked in the North Star State, he served as a morning anchor and he led the show to winning Regional Emmy Awards in 2019 and 2021 for Best Daytime Newscast.
Over the years, Kris her traveled extensively to find stories and he has covered major events. A number of the events that he has covered include; Stanley Cup Finals, Federal election campaigns, and the Olympics, and while he was in Minnesota he assisted viewers through the sensitive period following the 2020 killing of George Floyd. Furthermore, during Laudien’s leisure time, he enjoys; trying new recipes, working out at the gym, and exploring the metro Detroit area and the State of Michigan
