Khambrel Marshall Biography
Khambrel Marshall is an American meteorologist working for KPRC as a meteorologist and anchor. He joined the KPRC news team in May 1999, after previously working for WFOR TV as the news director, reporter, and anchor.
Though Khambrel’s career and life included much more than his work in the news studio, he joined the KPRC 2 team in 1999. He is among the few broadcasters who have covered news, sports, and the weather. Along with being the anchor of a weekly public affairs program that highlights local newsmakers, he has favorably impacted numerous humanitarian projects with his voice and presence. For many people at KPRC 2 and in our community, he serves as a mentor and role model. He didn’t let it stop him, going on to work behind the scenes as an executive producer and enrolling in Mississippi State University’s broadcast meteorology school. In 2008, he joined the station again, this time as a TV meteorologist. Although Marshall, a North Carolina native, has spent his entire adult life in front of the camera, television wasn’t his first career choice. Having grown up with educators for parents, he believed that teaching was his calling. While in high school, Marshall considered a career in the military. Rather, he joined the ROTC and won a scholarship at Tempe, Arizona State University.
Marshall has chaired the YMCA of Greater Houston board and is devoted to the community. He received recognition at the Mayor’s History Makers’ Award Luncheon in 2020 for his activism. Marshall, who served as the event’s emcee, was taken aback when his wife Debbie, and daughter Danielle from Louisville, Kentucky, showed up for the luncheon. Marshall received a unique honor from them.
