Ken Wayne is an American award-winning anchor working for KRON4 as a weekday evening anchor. He joined the KRON4 news team in 1992, after previously working for KTVU.
Born in Marin County, Wayne completed his US Navy journalism program at Defense Information School, where he worked at Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS), Subic Bay, in the Philippines and aboard the USS Biddle, a guided missile cruiser based in Norfolk, Virginia. After the Navy, Wayne started in Palm Springs at KESQ in 1985. From there, he went on to Chico, Fresno, Los Angeles, and finally home to the Bay Area.
Wayne began his professional career in Adak, Alaska, at a small FM and TV station. As a Navy Journalist, he covered stories from the Aleutian Islands to the Libyan coast, seeing the globe. Wayne won Peabody and Edward R. Murrow awards for his reporting while he was the anchor of the weekday and weekend newscasts for KTVU, the FOX affiliate station in the Bay Area, before joining KRON4 in 2018. During his free time, Ken likes to travel across California and the West in his small plane. Furthermore, he is somewhat of a karaoke addict.
