Kelly O’Connell is an American anchor working for FOX 9 as a weekday morning anchor at 4:30 a.m. and as the host of The FOX 9 Morning Buzz. She joined FOX 9 in October 2015, after previously she worked at KCPQ-TV.

O’Connell was brought up in the Como Park neighborhood of Saint Paul where her parents reside to date. She attended The University of Minnesota in 2003 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish in 2007. In addition, she interned at KIMT-TV and at WCCO for 1 year before she was later able to secure a job at WRBL-TV.

While Kelly worked at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia she served as a reporter for two years. Later in August 2009, she relocated to Cedar Rapids, Lowa where she worked at KGAN TV for three years as an anchor and reporter. In addition, she got a promotion as the anchor of the morning and noon show while at KGAN. Furthermore, O’Connell has also worked in Greater Seattle where she served as a morning anchor and reporter from 4:30 am to 5 am.
