Kelly Foster is an American AMS & NWA sealed meteorologist working at FOX 10 Alabama. She serves as a midday and 4 pm meteorologist at the station. In addition, Foster joined the WALA-TV team on July 7, 2026.
Kelly Foster Career
Kelly is a well-rounded meteorologist who brings 25 years of experience to the Mobile/Pensacola market. In addition, she is a double-sealed meteorologist from both the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Furthermore, she attended Mississippi State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. Foster also studied at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio, TV, and Film. While she was at Auburn University, she studied alongside journalism and alongside film studies at the University of London.
Foster did live coverage of breaking news of a massive apartment complex fire for which she won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. In addition, she received an Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in her work. Previously, she has also received first-place Associated Press awards. The award was presented to her for feature and franchise reporting in both Alabama and Mississippi. Furthermore, she was also honored to receive Nappie Awards for Best Anchor.
Kelly’s professional passion is tropical meteorology, as she has covered over a dozen Gulf Coast landfalls. In addition, covering the remains of Hurricane Katrina remains her most memorable coverage to date. Hurricane Katrina wiped out a large portion of her hometown in Mississippi as it spanned almost the entire Gulf. Prior to her time at FOX 10 Alabama, she worked at WDAM-TV, where she served as the Chief Meteorologist and Live at 5 Anchor. More than that, she also worked at WXXV, where she served as a morning anchor.
During her leisure time, she enjoys streaming shows, playing tennis, cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels with her family, reading, and spending ample time with her husband and children.
