Kelley Smith is an American anchor and reporter working for WHNT as the weekday morning co-anchor of This Morning from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. alongside Steve Johnson. She joined the News 19 team as a multimedia journalist in May 2028 and was promoted to her current position in March 2022.
California is Smith’s native home and her family is from Madison. She attended Arizona State University where she graduated proudly in 2012 and later began her reporting career in Helena, Montana. Prior to joining WHNT, Smith worked in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at KSFY-TV where she served as a multimedia journalist for three years.
While Kelley was in the Mount Rushmore State, she has the privilege to cover a wide range of stories spanning state and local government, severe weather, and also the 75th annual Sturgis Rally. In addition, Smith has been awarded a Sevareid Award for her investigative journalism.
