Kayla-Marie Tracy is a Canadian anchor and reporter working for CP24 as an anchor reporter and Communication Specialist. She joined the CP24 news team in 2016, after previously working for Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club.
Kayla-Marie Tracy Career
Tracy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Grambling State University and a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Georgia State University. As a journalist, she has covered a wide range of significant events, including the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, the Toronto International Film Festival, provincial elections, the 2016 Grey Cup, and the 2019 NBA Championship.
Before she joined CP24, Tracy worked as a sports anchor at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club, in Hamilton, Ontario. Her journalism career began in 2009 when she worked as a radio personality for 91.5 KGRM, in Grambling, Louisiana. There, was the host of “Good Morning Grambling” a one-hour segment consisting of music, live interviews, and news on a 50,000 Watt Non-Commercial educational station streaming online.
After two years, in 2010, she relocated to Toronto, Canada Area, where she served at CTV as an intern. Her duties there included gathering and researching daily news stories for reporters and anchors. She also assisted reporters on location with interviews and wrote stories for the web. She then moved to West Monroe, Los Angeles, and worked as a weekend anchor at KTVE-10, an NBC affiliate, as a fill-in anchor for a 9 p.m. newscast on a sister station, KARD FOX-14, and as a fill-in morning anchor for NBC News Today, a two hour morning segment before The Today Show.
Tracy has also worked for The Coca-Cola Company and as an assistant volleyball coach at Agnes Scott College. In 2015, Tracy held Position 4 for the Foton Tornadoes, a professional volleyball team in the Philippine Superliga. As an outside hitter, she helped lead the team to its first-ever PSL Grand Prix title in December 2015.
