Katie Steiner is an American weather and traffic anchor working for WCCO-TV as a morning weather and traffic anchor. She joined the WCCO-TV team in September 2018, after previously working for WWL-TV.
Before joining WCCO-TV, Steiner worked at the CBS affiliate in New Orleans, Los Angeles. While she was there, she covered; massive flash flooding events, hurricanes, rare snowfall, and tropical storms. In addition, Katie has also worked in Columbia, Missouri, and Spokane, Washington State. For her education, she attended Hastings High School where she graduated in 2008. Later on, she joined the University of Missouri where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2011.
Furthermore, Minnesota is Katie’s native home and she was brought up around veterans. Her grandfather was an Army Reserve General based at Fort Snelling, while her father was a Navy pilot. In addition, her uncle was also an Air Force navigator and this made an impact on her younger brother and sister who also joined the Navy. Together with her husband and children, they enjoy; skiing at the cabin, cross-country skiing in the winter, and playing tennis in the summer. In addition, her family is actively involved in their local church where she sings at mass on regular occasions.
