Kathy Sabine Biography
Kathy Sabine is an American seven-time Emmy award-winning meteorologist who is currently working at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado. She serves as the chief meteorologist at the station and she is the lead forecaster of the weekday 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10 p.m newscast. In addition, she joined the 9NEWS team in the spring of 1993.

For high school, she attended MSU Denver where she graduated proudly. Later, she joined college because she wanted to be a veterinarian and she worked on her first degree in Veterinary Science at Cal Poly. Not long after, she switched her major to Journalism. Later on, she worked on her second degree in Meteorology at Metropolitan State College in Denver as well as classes at Mississippi State University.

In addition, she attended Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California where she graduated proudly. She has also worked as an anchor, reporter, producer, and writer apart from forecasting. Additionally, she has also spent time behind the scenes in production as a tape operator, floor director, audio technician, camera operator, and chyron operator.
Furthermore, she has served as a fill-in anchor on the Today Show in New York for Al Roker during the week and Chief Meteorologist Janice Huff from WNBC in New York on the weekend edition around three dozen times over the years. Truckee is her native home which is actually a small mountain town in northern California near Lake Tahoe and this is where her love for the outdoors and nature began. When she was two years old, she had learned skiing and she also became very involved with horses and rodeo. She started her television career at the NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo and later on, she worked at ABC in San Jose California, Fox in Salinas/Monterey, and ABC in Santa Barbara.

Furthermore, she is proud to be a foundation board member for Teen With A Dream which is a youth cancer organization. She is involved with the National Western Stock Show, Colorado Horse Council, and local 4H and FFA organizations.
