Katherine Scott is an American reporter working for 6ABC as a general assignment reporter. She joined the Action News team in June 2009.
Over the years, Scott has covered a wide range of major breaking news stories in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware inclusive of; the deadly Center City building collapse in 2013, the riot at Delaware’s maximum security prison in 2017 that claimed the life of a corrections officer, the aftermath of the 2015 Amtrak train derailment in Port Richmond, and the fatal duck boat crash on the Delaware River in 2010. In addition, while Pope Francis celebrated Mass from the Art Museum, Katherine was on Ben Franklin Parkway. She was present during the Democratic National Convention in 2016.
Over the years, Scott has followed numerous; sitting trials for Bill Cosby, former Pennsylvania Congressman Chaka Fattah, many high-profile court cases, disgraced Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, and former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane. She also covers wild weather in nor’easters, Superstorm Sandy in 2012, and blizzards.
Prior to relocating to Philadelphia, Katherine worked for News 12 The Bronx where she served as an anchor and reporter. She also worked at the Athens Olympics. New Jersey is Scott’s native home and she attended Harvard University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. While she was at Harvard, she served as the captain of the Varsity Field Hockey team.
