Kate Welshofer is an American award-winning anchor working for WGRZ as a co-creator and anchor of Most Buffalo at 4 p.m. every weekday. She joined the 2 On Your Side news team news team in January 2018 after previously working for Spectrum, formerly known as Time Warner Cable News.
Kate Welshofer Career
Welfosher started her professional career as a producer in Rochester, New York Area where she managed daily editorial content for Rochester’s only 24-hour local news channel in November 1996. Not only did she write and vet news stories and coordinate live shots, but she also led teams through extensive breaking news and special event coverage. In addition, she trained and instructed new producers to create new content through a weekend segment for kids called “Kids Capsule” which later expanded to a half-hour show.
She later moved on to work at Time Warner Cable. Here she delivered combined interviewing, news gathering, live reporting, and creative storytelling skills to inform and engage the community as the weeknight reporter for Rochester’s only 24-hour local news channel. In addition, she also anchored newscasts on a fill-in basis from December 2003 to January 2007.
Welshofer is also a YouTube content creator where she produces, shoots, and edits a weekly character-driven online video series featuring relatable comedy and humor to celebrate the lighter and sometimes silly side of life. Welshofer went to Perry Central High School and later joined St. Bonaventure University where she attained her Bachelor’s in Journalism and Communications in 1996
