Karen Rogers is an American meteorologist working for 6ABC as a morning meteorologist and traffic anchor. She joined the 6ABC news team in 1996, as a reporter and producer for the show AM/Philadelphia.
New Jersey was Rogers’ native home and while growing up, she watched Action News. She attended Mississippi State University where she earned a certificate in broadcast meteorology after studying atmospheric sciences and geosciences for three years. In addition, she also attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick where she earned a degree in Communication and Sociology.
In addition, while she was at Rutgers University, she was the valedictorian of her communication class and was the class speaker for commencement. She has been listed in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. After having graduated, Rogers relocated to the United Kingdom where she was a Rotary International Scholar studying Broadcast Journalism. Furthermore, Karen worked at WHSP-TV in Vineland, New Jersey for a brief stint while serving as a daily news anchor. While she was at the station, she interviewed many political leaders on her monthly show and served as the host of a weekly talk show.
Karen has also been serving as a longtime host of FYI Philly. She is also a member of the 6ABC special inclusive of; the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Auto Experience, and the Philadelphia Flower Show Special. Furthermore, Rogers is an active supporter of young people and she stated that among her most rewarding experiences was working with the Child Assault Prevention Program. She taught elementary school students empowerment skills for reporting and preventing abuse.
