Karen Carter is an American meteorologist working for CBS Detroit where she served as the chief meteorologist and can be seen on weekdays.
Metro Detroit is Karen’s native home and she attended Central Michigan University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in broadcasting and meteorology. She was named the Chief Meteorologist for CBS Detroit in 2017, thus making her the first-ever female in Detroit TV history to hold that title. Before joining CBS Detroit, Carter worked at CBS & CW in Detroit where she served as a weekend forecaster.
In addition, Carter has also worked at WLNS in Lansing where she served as a weather forecaster. Whenever she can, she enjoys taking part in the community as she contributes her time to local organizations. A number of the organizations she devotes her time to include; Meadow Brook Theatre Guild, Camp Oakland, The Salvation Army, Open Door Outreach, Autism Speaks, and many more. During Karen’s spare time, she enjoys gardening in her perennial and vegetable gardens, cooking, and working on her art.
