Julie Grant is an American former prosecutor and anchor working for COURT TV as a host of Opening Statements with Julie Grant, on weekday mornings at 8:00 am ET. She joined the COURT TV news team in 2018, after previously working for KDKA.

Grant, a licensed attorney, former prosecutor, and trial expert, earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron. She further honed her trial expertise by obtaining her Master of Laws (LL.M.) with Honors in Trial Advocacy from Temple University’s School of Law. During her tenure as an Assistant District Attorney in Allegheny County, PA (Pittsburgh), she gained valuable experience by trying numerous felony and misdemeanor cases before both judges and juries. Before merging her passions for journalism and law, she showcased her love for dance by cheerleading professionally for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. On Court TV, she is recognized for her genuine warmth and kindness, demonstrating compassion for victims in the true crime network. Driven by her deep commitment to victims’ advocacy, she serves as an advisory board member for the nationally recognized Paws for Empowerment program at Crisis Center North in Western Pennsylvania. This program involves canine court advocates accompanying domestic violence survivors to criminal court proceedings and providing therapy during private counseling sessions.
During her leisure time, she enjoys reading autobiographies and spending quality time with her cat Rocky and her dog Reyna. She also spends her time engaging in weight training at the gym and interacting with her fans on social media. Sharing inspirational messages with others is an important aspect of her mission.
