Josh Taylor Biography
Josh Taylor is an American sports anchor working for KDKA as a weekend sports anchor. He joined the KDKA team in 2015, as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
Josh Taylor Career
Prior to joining KDKA, Taylor worked for KHBS-KHOG in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he served as a weekend sports anchor for over two years. While he worked at KHBS-KHOG, he was awarded for covering Arkansas Razorback football with two Associated Press awards.
Pittsburgh is Taylor’s birth home and he was brought up in the Hill District. His love for sports began after he saw his first Penguins game when he was 7 years old. He attended Schenley High School where he graduated proudly, later on, he joined Duquesne University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and multimedia. In addition, Josh was a student journalist while in college, and later on, she joined DUQ-TV News where she served as an anchor, reporter, and producer for a news special that won a Telly Award in 2008.
Furthermore, Josh is the co-author of six books which are about Pittsburgh sports. Taylor joined KDKA-FM, 93.7 in 2017, where he served as host of “Sunday Morning Grind.” In the same year, he was honored as one of the New Pittsburgh Courier’s “Men of Excellence.” He was also added to the Duquesne Journalism and Multimedia Department’s “Wall of Fame,” in 2017. He is also an emcee and public speaker who co-hosted the Courier’s Vann Media Awards Banquet alongside Mikey Hood. In 2018, Josh served as the presenter of the City League Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Whenever Taylor finds time, he is actively involved in the community and he volunteers in hosting and speaking at a number of events for organizations. Since 2018, Josh has been working for Wesley Family Services on the Young Professionals Board. In addition, Taylor has previously worked closely with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. He assisted in raising funds for the on-campus Children’s Center for the WPSD’s “An Evening in Edgewood,” in 2019.
Furthermore, Josh was an emcee and dancer for “Dancing With the Pittsburgh Superstars.” He also served as the annual host of the “Dancing With the Dukes” event at Duquesne. The event was to support his brothers of Gamma Phi Fraternity. During his spare time, he enjoys playing softball, watching professional wrestling, and traveling with his family.
