Jonathan Serrie is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX NEWS as a senior correspondent based in the Atlanta bureau. He joined the FOX NEWS news team in 1999, after previously working for WSB-TV (ABC).
Serrie earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and English from Emory University. However, his journey into journalism can be traced back to Mrs. Ball’s 4th-grade class at Booker Elementary School in Sarasota. It was in that class where he founded a classroom newspaper, which was printed on mimeograph paper, marking the inception of his journalism career. He served as a reporter for WSB-TV (ABC) in Atlanta, where he garnered two Southern Regional Emmy awards. During his time at WSB, he covered significant events such as the 1994 Susan Smith child murders and the search for the 1996 Olympic Park bomber, Eric Rudolph.
Prior to his stint at WSB, from 1989 to 1994, he held various roles, including general assignment reporter, morning anchor, and regional bureau chief for WYFF-TV (NBC) in Greenville, South Carolina. Serrie initiated his career as a reporter and photographer, focusing on Bradenton and Manatee County, for WWSB-TV (ABC) in Sarasota, Florida. Currently serving as a senior correspondent based in the Atlanta bureau, he has been actively involved in covering a range of impactful stories. Most recently, he reported on the federal prosecution of former President Trump, Georgia’s increasing significance as an electoral battleground, and the extradition of Joran van der Sloot. He is the prime suspect in the unsolved disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Notably, he was among the first U.S. reporters to arrive in Aruba when Holloway was reported missing in 2005.
In addition, he has provided comprehensive coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, delving into the omicron variant surge in 2022. In 2021, he offered live updates on the disappearance of Gabby Petito. Before that, during FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage, he reported on the latest breaking election news from Georgia. Throughout his tenure at the network, he has reported live on numerous major international and national news stories, including significant political elections, as well as covering the aftermath of devastating hurricanes and tornadoes across the United States, among other events.
