Jonathan Gonzalez is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is currently working at KNBC. He serves as the co-anchor of NBC4 weekend evening newscasts at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. In addition, during the weekdays he serves as a general assignment reporter for the 11 a.m. and 4, 5, and 6 p.m. newscasts.

Burbank, California is his native home. Before joining the NBC4 news team, he previously resided in Denver, Colorado where he worked at the NBC affiliate KUSA Channel 9 News and served as an anchor and reporter. In addition, his journalism career started in Bakersfield where he worked at KBAK/KBFX-TV serving as a reporter.

In his journalism career, he has earned industry recognition for his news reports having won multiple Emmy awards, Edward R. Murrow Awards, and Golden Mike Awards. In addition, he has covered prominent local stories with national appeal including President Obama’s first visit to Fresno, California about the impact of the drought on the region, and the 2016 Presidential Primary in Colorado.

He attended California State University, Northridge where he graduated proudly with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Additionally, he is the son of a Costa Rican immigrant, thus he is proud of his Latino heritage.
