Jon Tritsch Biography
Jon Tritsch is an American sports anchor/reporter who worked at KLAS-TV since February 2016 and on June 3, 2022, he left the station. Prior to joining the KLAS-TV team, he worked at 29 CBS-News in Bakersfield, California and while he was there, he served as a sports anchor.
Nebraska is where he was brought up and while he was in high school, he played five sports, and while in college in Minnesota, he played football. He attended Concordia College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication and political science. After he had graduated, he became an entry-level reporter in Lincoln covering University of Nebraska sports and he had to work an overnight shift at a grocery store to pay the bills. In addition, he was able to secure his first sports anchoring position in Sioux City, Iowa at KCAU/Channel 9 and while he was there, he developed a passion for storytelling and being involved in the community.
Later on, he relocated to Central Texas where he covered the religion of high school football and Baylor. In July 2012, he joined the KCEN team in Waco, Texas and while he was there he served as a sports anchor and reported on Big XII and high school sports, however, after working at the station for 5 months, he left in November. He was able to secure a job at WACO High School where he was a teacher, and coach for the football and soccer teams.
